Books don’t come with a rating the way movies do, which led me to create a similar system for readers to better understand how my books are classified.
GA
General Audience
The content does not include any profanity and is generally appropriate for ages 13 and up.
PGA
Parental Guidance Advised
The content may include strong language, difficult topics, and minor drug use. It is generally suitable for ages 13 and up, but minors should consult with a parent or guardian.
NS
Not Suitable
The content includes profanity and violent scenes that may be disturbing to some readers. It is not recommended for those under 15 years old, and minors should not read it without parental guidance.
R
Restricted
The content contains scenes and/or language that may be disturbing, including erotica, descriptions of bodily fluids, and explicit violence. It is not suitable for minors.
Most of my books fall amongst PGA and NS, though there are exceptions.
At the same time, I tend to include content warnings at the beginning of my books. (In the Miniature Novels series, they can be found in the prologue.) If the content warnings are not available within the book, they are always explicitly mentioned in the digital description and/or on the official website.
How will I know the category of each book?
Each rating can be viewed on the official website for my books. This rating is not available on the physical, digital, or audio versions of any book, and can only be determined on the website. Each novel has its designated tab, which is where all of the information is available.
What are content warnings?
Content warnings are intended to make reading a more comfortable experience by informing readers about potentially distressing elements in the novel. While not every possible trigger can be listed, most significant ones are usually included.
The parent or legal guardian must exercise diligence while monitoring their minor’s access to any novel’s material. The author and associates renounce any responsibility for the unauthorized and/or unintended consumption of content by those external to the designated age groups. The responsibility for ensuring age-appropriate materials lies with the responsible parties, not the author and/or associated members of M.B NOVELS.
